Risk Management Head for an Insurance Company

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the Risk Management Department and oversee the following activities:
  2. Develop and implement the Risk Management Policy, including monitoring operational and financial risk exposure against risk appetite and promoting alignment;
  3. Develop company risk appetite framework, setting of quantitative risk limits against solvency and other risk appetite dimensions
  4. Support the Company in undertaking of Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) and preparation of the ORSA report for presentation and submission to various parties
  5. Development of risk metrics and indicators useful to aid in decision-making in strategy planning, business planning and capital management
  6. Partners with key stakeholders in the business to identify, assess, aggregate and document risks and controls, including risks associated with new or modified products, services, distribution channels, regulations, third party operations and others
  7. Contributes in cross-functional teams to identify, assess, aggregate and mitigate current and emerging risk events.
  8. Work with actuarial team in the development of risk assessment tools such as economic capital modelling
  9. Communicate risk information to relevant stakeholders and governance forums;
  10. Secretariat duties for the Risk Management and Outsourcing Committees
  11. Performs all other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  1. At least 10 years of relevant experience
  2. Relevant experience includes actuarial management, financial control, operations, audit
  3. Commercial acumen with strong understanding of operations of various life insurance functions, and how life insurers transform risks undertaken into shareholders' value
  4. Well versed in enterprise risk management concepts with excellent working knowledge of the regulatory framework in Singapore
  5. Strong analytical skills
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  7. Prior managerial experience
  8. Good understanding of operations of various functions in a life insurance company, and how life insurers transform risks undertaken into shareholders' value
  9. Relevant experience includes actuarial management, financial control, operations, and/or audit
  10. Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CERA, FIA, FSA) is preferred
