IT Application Development Executive for an Insurance Company

Responsibilities

  1. Program enhancements/developments related to Life Asia and/or Group 400 system.
  2. Able to interact and coordinate efficiently with other IT Sections and within Core Application Team.
  3. Liaise with Web Application Team on Front-end applications on inter-related projects.
  4. Perform system analysis, design and system unit/integration testing.
  5. Prepare/update Technical Specifications and end user system job instructions documents.
  6. Liaise with external parties pertaining to system collaboration and system testing.
  7. Observe, maintain and comply with the KPIs, work instructions, guidelines, security controls, audit controls and governance set.
  8. Ensure quality deliverables, documentation and reporting for work assigned and performed.
  9. Support IT Disaster Recovery where required.

Requirements

  1. Diploma/ Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
  2. Experience in Life Insurance industry;
  3. At least 4 years hands-on coding experience in COBOL, database and system design;
  4. Fluent in English spoken and written language;
  5. Meticulous and highly accurate in performing coding and documentation;
  6. Systematic in keeping track of time spent on projects assigned;
  7. Knowledge of AS/400 & Query400 will be added advantage.
